SRPGs are an interesting beast for me. I'm interested in these types of games, but I'm absolute rubbish at them. I've tried a few: Jeanne D'Arc, Disgaea, etc. But I just can't get into the flow.

FFT is a pretty legendary game, and even as someone with no real attachment to the FF brand, the talk behind the game is hard to ignore. So yesterday while getting cosplay stuff I picked it up. I don't think I'll get to play it this weekend, but what are some tips for a SRPG noob while playing this game?

Plan out what you do before you do it. You can't take an action one step at a time, you need to think about the positives and negatives that each move will give you and then build on that.

That's the best advice I can give for anyone playing an SRPG.

Level up as much as you can too. Flit between towns to get random battles. I'm currently stuck on a part that is frigging diamond-hard cos my peeps ain't up to scratch.

Everytime I start to play this game, I fall asleep. Persona and MHF2 keeps me awake though.

This isn't a good sign.
