Wow, fucking hell.
That's a lot of features.

It'll be expensive, but still kind of want.

Two analog sticks are win but I won't be interested until I see a price. :S

It looks pretty badass, but why haven't we seen gameplay videos yet? :/ The rear touch pad is a really great idea! Big kudos to Sony for innovating and coming up with cool stuff. Also, the analogs look like ordinary joysticks rather than slide pads, or am I mistaken? If not, awesome.

So tempting...just need a price. The screenshot of Uncharted looks pretty damn good too.

What I like the most about this console (and demo) is that the touch screen, back touch pad and tilt sensor are so well integrated into the experience. It looks more like a natural extension of the gameplay than it does on the DS/3DS. Whereas on the DS/3DS you need to whip out a pen to use the touch screen (thus creating like two modes - buttons or pen), on the NGP you just use your fingers. I have to say I'm very impressed with the hardware and the amount of thought they've put into all of this.

Theres a small chance that quad core cortex A9 is a tegra 3, but I highly doubt it since they named a different GPU.

Sexy, sexy beast this thing is.

It's big, for sure. And probably going to cost a lot. The power of the thing makes me wonder if the NGP will have the frankly JRPG renaissance that happened on the PSP; we saw alot of JRPGs from smaller developers on the tail end/recently in the PSPs life probably because by that point the cost of developing a PS2-level game was alot cheaper. But with projections of the current generation of consoles going on for a lot longer, and costs so much higher...

I've noticed lost of the games for the 3DS being played sans stylus, which is encouraging, but yeah, I would've liked them to do away with it entirely, for the same reasons you mentioned.

I cannot fathom any scenario at the point where I don't get both the NGP and 3DS. Very excited for this gen of handhelds.

On the other hand, using a stylus for the touch screen provides a different experience all together so the decision to do away with the stylus is not without drawbacks.

No they aren't.

Uncharted might just sell me on this thing.
even though it'll be released when I'm a poor student... I must have it.

...I think I'm turning into Blokeh, but with Uncharted instead of FF.

This looks pretty fuckin sweet.
It looks a bit chunky (GAME GEAR STATUS), but it's for a good cause.
I'm actually interested in seeing how that touch pad on the back of it works out. Did they have a conference where that's demonstrated?
Also, it looks like it will be a little hand cramping (from the pictures), because of that small space for the grip followed almost immediately after by the touch pad. I hope it doesn't become obstructive. :I

I definitely want to try this out, especially because we've got the two analog sticks now. I'm still kinda confused as to why Nintendo didn't do the same sensible thing on the 3DS, but whatever, that's another topic entirely.

Anyways, it's good to see that Sony stood up to their word/other rumors. I heard people saying that the NGP could pull near-PS3 graphics, but I was pretty doubtful (though I did expect a lot). I'll definitely keep an eye on this.... Hopefully I can get a job to pay this fucker off, and hopefully the library can keep it afloat.

Because one joystick + touchpad = superior system for FPS control. I suppose they could've thrown in a second joystick for camera movement and such but not really necessary imo.

I'm just talking for adventure games. Unless Nintendo makes their touch screen like the ones seen on the Ipad/Ipodtouch/Ipodnano/etc, using your thumb seems a little odd when it comes to moving the camera (That is, however, just my opinion. For all I know, the touch screens could be the same. Just an odd preference sort of thing). There's also the fact that you're severely limited, button wise, when you have the stylus in your hand to control the camera.

But I can see what you're saying. I think using the second joystick in FPS games seems a little intrusive, especially when you want to spin and melee or do some special shit while spinning. You have to spin - stop - press - and keep spinning.
I'm just talking quick movements and such.

With this in mind, I wonder what Sony's got in mind for their touch screen. I can see littlebigplanet getting really user friendly with this thing.
