Apparently they're going to focus on the software and ditch the hardware. I can't say I'm happy about this, considering the Zune's app library is so limited that it might as well not even have one, and there's still the issue with the Zune not being able to use security certificates for wireless access. Maybe they'll fix these problems, maybe they won't, but I can foresee support for the device disappearing.

Shame, Apple have too much of the market, and their products are always inferior and cost much more.

Considering the Windows Phone 7's use the Zune software as an app marketplace/PC sync tool, I'd expect to see a new Zune sometime that is compatible with the WP7 Marketplace and it's XBOX Live connectivity.

This sucks. I really hope Sean's right, because when my iPod eventually quits on me, I was thinking of getting a Zune as a replacement.

Hmm, maybe should start looking for a Zune HD then. Apparently they made it to Canada after all!

I use my Zune HD for Videos and Music. I do not surf the internet with it. I do not use apps, other than the Metronome. I don't care if they stop supporting it, I love it. Always have, always will. It's a shame, but now it will make them worth more.

Yup, and they were (don't know if they still are) on sale at Best Buy, or at least at the one I work at. Same price, just not as many extras that ordering from the Zune website gives.
