on a serious (honestly non-troll too) note, Half Life 2 WAS good.
It has NOT aged well.
Ravenholm is pretty awesome and honestly creepy. But the mines afterwards, however brief they are, are worse for me. FUCKING HEADCRABS.
The whole game has a great story but goddammit I wish they hadn't gone silent protagonist.
I'm sick of the whole "YOU ARE THE HERO THUS DON'T SPEAK" shit, it's not immersive at all now. It feels kinda jarring.
But yeah it's alright. Ep 1 is better. Ep2 is even better until the fucking end. Then it's AGGRIVATING AS FUCK. Looking forward to Ep 3 though.
No no no no! That last area is amazing. It was so fun and the right level of difficulty. It was a sequence I barely got through on my first try, but it was exciting. I think it's one of the best things Valve has ever done.
