At risk of sounding elitist (but truthful IMO), most serious MMORPGs use the monthly subscription model. If they fail at being a serious MMORPG, generally they then go F2P with micro-transactions. The flip-side to the F2P model is you get an influx of people who don't take the games as seriously, and you end up with a two tier system, divided by those who have paid for content, and those who have not. IMHO that makes it more difficult to for guilds to include everybody in their activities, and for individuals to find groups for the content they have access to. The reason for this is that the world is persistent, so the segregation hits hard.

I've seen it before in LOTRO, and SWTOR. The publishers solve revenue problems for the game by switching to the F2P Micro-transactions model, but it causes headaches for the players.

It's not bad, it's just...empty. There's not a lot to do.

The bugs are pretty serious, though. Half the time when you close the menu when you're talking to merchants, the text goes away but the merchant just stares at you and you can't move. Have to do /reloadui to fix it. I even had it through a code error up on the screen (for debugging purposes I guess? I've never seen game code displayed to the player before).

There was one enemy I shot a crystal thing at and he rocketed through the ground and didnt come back.

Want to start swimming out in open water? Your health bar drops from full to empty in just two seconds. They could just put an invisible wall up, but no, you have to die as soon as you notice something is wrong. You can't chat when you're dead, either.

There's lots of small things that need improvement, like the enchanting table. You have to combine three differently shaped runes to make a glyph, and the glyph can be applied to equipment (somehow). Making the glyph is easy, but it doesn't tell you how to apply it. There was an option at the table to "extract" a glyph, so I chose the one I just made thinking maybe it has to be modified or something to be applied. It fucking broke it down into one of the three runes I used to make it. Eat shit.

Don't get me started on the dialogue, either. ZzZzzZz

Maybe, MAYBE, I'd pay $60 if they fix everything, but no way would I pay a monthly sub for it. Game feels like an alpha.
