Galaxy 2, Other M, and a number of the titles at E3 actually have me thinking about using my Wii. Gotta say I'm impressed. If I were still the huge Nintendo fan I used to be, I'd probably have fainted from the fact that Nintendo actually catered to their traditional fans.

And yet, more than anything, it made me think that we should have one console format that any manufacturer can make (similar to TVs, BluRay/DVD players, etc). I tend to stick to one console at a time for a few games and then swap to another - mostly been switching between my PS3 and 360 every few games as of late.

The fact that Sony and MS are releasing add-ons only makes me think this would be more possible if each wanted to still release their own sub-consoles for the overall format that could support everyone's games while also allowing Nintendo, Sony, and MS to pursue creative new ideas.

Not sure where I'm going with this, just really wish I could have all the games on one console instead of 3.

I've been playing S&P1 on my Wii alot lately. I've waited since the Nintendo Sixty FOOOOOOUUUUUURRRRRR days to play it, and it was almost worth the wait.

You can buy from stokes. I hear he is selling. ;)

J the 3DS will be the only thing you will need for a few years. So, if you like one system go with the 3DS!

The problem with having a single console is it would become like a PC. They'd have slightly different configs and be updated every week with all the benefits and problems that come with such a model.

While Nintendo does have the bad habit of constantly updating their handhelds, none of them are really needed. At all.
I still have the original DS and I'm perfectly fine with it. All I've really missed out on is DSiWare, which went into effect years after the original DS anyways.

Also, great to see you J! I would say don't be a stranger, but I'm pretty sure you're busy with life most of the time lol.

@Blokey - Dude, you said you'd buy a new wii for Endless Ocean 2 somewhere. I think it's time. heheheh

I don't know how I feel about a one console era. It would be good for the consumer on the money side of things (as well as convenience), but it makes me worry about creativity and original content. Competition is what drives these companies to pump out awesome new experiences for the consumer.

But on the other note, yes Nintendo is finally caring about their core audience again. It's beautiful.

But on the other other note, great to see you J!

I said in one of my posts that I'm gonna try to be a bit less of a stranger so you should be seeing me every couple weeks at least - great to see everyone.

As for one console being like PCs, I'm thinking movie formats. They can add features, which yes, can make newer ones seem nicer, but you don't have to buy a Blu-Ray player, HD DVD player, DVD player, even CD player. HD DVD was made redundant as is a DVD and CD player (to a lesser degree) with BRDs become the new de-facto standard.

To me less focus on selling hardware and getting exclusive content means more focus on games... and more sales because everyone who owns this single system can buy them.
