I would have agreed with you before the dollar bombed. Nintendo is struggling because of the strength of the yen to the dollar, they may need to keep the price up this time.

The Wii launched in Japan with just around the same price as the 3DS was just announced to be.

When it got overseas, the USA saw it at $250.

I do agree that it was a dick move to RAISE the price in Europe though, but I'm sure there HAD to be a good reason.

Well, I got my Wii for Christmas, so I wouldn't have known how much it cost.

I'm wondering if the new Golden Sun game is coming out on 3DS or regular DS. That'd really be the impetus behind me getting a 3DS before I waited for a major price drop.

you could probably just buy Golden Sun and Pokemon Black/White and be fine with your DS games wise until the inevitable first hardware iteration of the 3DS.
