Games like Godfather: Blackhand and Endless Ocean kept me going, but TBH, the gloss started fading just after the Christmas period, which was around 3 weeks after launch.

Some games kicked so much ass, but they were very few and far between. Even Mario Galaxy didn't impress me as much as I thought...

I disagree. Before the Wii we haven't experienced motion controls. And the experience simply proved disappointing. Most of us have experienced 3D in theatres or in front of the computer using red/green glasses or crosseye method. We know what it is and we know if we like it or not. Personally, I think it's awesome. Analog controller - we already know if from the PSP. And the graphics are much better.

Then there's the strong game lineup of the 3DS which is much better than the first few months of the Wii were (basically just TP). Nintendo has suspended this casual BS and seem determined to bring out the real goods this time. Plus stuff like the 3D cameras and AR seem really exciting. But if they ultimately are not, then that's not the end of the world either. I don't think you can compare it to what the Wii was, because this time we know much better what we're getting.

This is the EXACT reason I'm getting it. Right out of the line it's getting a butt-ton of good games. 3D is cool I guess, but I'm in it for the games.

Right, that's probably the biggest reason. It just so happens I'm excited about the hardware too =D

But Nintendo is just rehashing there old classics. How is that an awesome line up?

If its the first time out on a new console, I see no problem.

The problem is Nintendo isn't being forced into putting any effort into their titles. They make money off of their hardware sales. As long as people keeping buying them they don't care how crap their games are. Then only way to force them to make good games is by not buying their hardware.

Also, would you buy a PS4 if it's best launch titles were God of War 3 and Little Big Planet?

Can't really answer that, considering I have the remastered God Of War (PS2) games...

But I see what you mean. Nintendo's game (and third party game) quality has dropped drastically since they dropped their "seal of approval" thing, but while devs are still happy to port their games to a new games machine (LBP on PSP, even though its a different game to the PS3 original, did amazingly well) then provided its a good game, and provided its a different way to play it (yes, I'd buy mobile versions of LBP and GOW3, but not home console remakes), then I see no problem.

I just hope the 3DS does not turn out to be like the dreamcast. Getting shunned out by Sony is all Nintendo needs.

Actually, having the 3DS flop horribly might be just the kick in the pants Ninty needs to get their head in the game.
