And I revert back to my argument of remakes, what's the point spending £200-£400 on a new console/handheld if all you're going to do is rebuy the exact same game?

Because I never bought them in the first place, so I don't mind. ;D

Why buy a new graphics card? Then you really are just playing the same games with prettier graphics.

I buy one every 3-5 years, to play the latest games maxed out, not every other year just to get an extra 30FPS+ in the games I currently own.

Out of the developers you mentioned, only Valve and Konami have any relevance to me, they are the only ones with games that expand the stories with their sequels instead of retelling the same event again and again. Beside, Valve actually bring new ideas to the table, as opposed to Activision for example funding crappy developers to make CoD every year.
