An example of doing it right.

I turn on my 3DS today - see notifications about DoA and Samurai Warriors.

Wondering how/where this content is delivered..turn on game.

Automatic. New costumes. New quests. DLC - doing it right!!!


I am afraid that this kind of treatment wont last though.

Thats pretty neat!

Is it based on current game in the 3DS meaning only one Streetpass update at a time, or off your savegames meaning one for every game you have?

Nope. Just updates anything you possess/have saved already.

Just got far enough in SW that I can now use StreetPass.

So far have had 3 SF streetpass battles and one DoA thing where I got my ass wooped and then didn't have an option to retry it. Really bizarre.

Samurai Warriors is the shit though. Extra weapons. Extra chapters. Really polished game. 3D is easy on the eyes..yet for some reason DoA doesn't reflect Tecmo Koei's abilities.. feels straining in DoA.

EDIT: so SpotPass = enable SpotPass in game..and SpotPass would be the ability to download content through a wi-fi connection. Not sure how retailer SpotPass incentives work. I mean, because you have to set up your connection in System settings..so surely your system would only recognise your wi-fi spot and wouldn't connect to anything else?? either way - have connection = free content at intermittent times.

StreetPass = have StreetPass enabled in game.. allows various trading/brawling to occur based on the game.

SF4 has figures that have stats (HP, attack, Special Combo, Ultra Combo) that battle one another - you gain figure points for each battle won. You also unlock "medals" (3DS equivalent to trophies/achievements) some of which involve winning a set number of StreetPass battles.

Samurai Warriors has something similar but I have yet to try this out yet. Not sure what the rewards are. Will give update if anyone is interested.

Dead or Alive also has a battle type StreetPass but as I've yet to shift my ass all weekend I won't know how this works until I've done some field research *pushes glasses up*.


Couldn't seem to find any schedule for SpotPass content so it's quite nice that it's all surprising.
