We all know the global economy is screwed, and with a lot of people losing their jobs. Unfortunately, being a gamer is a tad harsh on the wallet. So lets have some ideas for keeping spending low but entertainment high.

First off, LoveFilm (UK).
I've used them before for a trial for films but not for games, so I can't give any recommendation. You can get an unlimited games package for £10.76 a month. That is, you choose a game, they send it to you, you play it as long as you want, send it back, next chosen game gets sent out. £14.68 lets you have two titles at once, or £18.59 for three. This includes DVD rental so if your significant other needs persuasion, you could always go halfs on a higher package.

Yeah, I've been using LoveFilm for a while. Rent games, DVDs and BluRays from them. They're good, never had any problems.

or you can find smaller rental sites, and then use their trial period, cancel, then move onto the next one

I did it for a few months.

You could all move to Japan, just be ready to scram when the economy catches up with us too...
If I had money I could send it home and be rich. Unfortunatly multiples of 0 are 0.

To combat the recession, I've stopped buying condoms.

That's quite counter-productive to fighting the recession...
