Building character is indeed important. But there was too much of the film where nothing happened at all. If they'd cut this out and brought Two Face in maybe 30 minutes, 45 minutes earlier, the story would still have been there, and you could have seen him become more evil and twisted. As it was, he seemed to play something akin to an annoying, pointless sidekick to the Joker.

Failing that, they should have ended the film with Two Face just announcing his arrival, and have the next film, if you'll excuse the pun, a face-off between TF and Batman.

I just don't like films where its 90% buildup and then 10% action. Totally unbalanced.

I want to see Iron Man again. I enjoyed The Dark Knight until I realised that the only good thing about it was Heath Ledger.

The villain in the new Batman film is Joker. He's the bad guy, not Harvey Dent. TF wasn't supposed to be the main course, he was the pink of Guiness on the side. Dent made things complicated for Bruce and Batman, and he was the twist in the film. He was a toy of the joker and it worked. I think he was there to show how Joker could twist him, and manipulate him. yeah he had a little scrap at the end, but that was just to juice up the ending of the movie.

Oh and it could be worse. Batman by Burton (yes indeed Best Batman film ever, no question) had Harey Dent, and he played Dent throughout the whole film. He did'nt become TF until Batman Forever...

I wasn't expecting Two Face to be as big as Joker, but giving him such a small part was pointless. If they wanted to do it right, they'd have left Two Face in hospital at the end, full of seething and hatred for Batman, guaranteeing a sequel which, lets face it, will happen anyways. I mean, the film ended with Batman a fugitive for killing Dent. Imagine what Dent could have done in a sequel where he uses his status as Gotham's legal saviour to fuck Batman's shit up.

Also, Dent in the original Burton movie was played by Billy Dee Williams, also known as Lando Calrissian. Yes, a black guy. Dent in Forever was played by Tommy Lee Jones. A white guy. Gotta love continuity, eh?

In conclusion, shoulda been either longer film and more Two Face, or shorter film and setup for the sequel.
