Comic book nerdyness aside, I don't think Heath topped Jack as the Joker, and I'm not sure it can even be done. My opinion stays the same when I think about someone trying to play the Riddler. Depp's great but anyone better than Carey? Plus it's little more than a decade...a bit soon to be remaking a film/character's chronology?

I don't think it'd be fair at all to compare the Riddler Carrey was hired to play vs what Depp would. One is clearly meant to be much darker. And, on a personal note, I thought Ledger's performance did top Jack's.

Personally, the ONLY original Batman movie that didn't suck epic-sized balls filled with AIDS was the first one with Keaton and Nicholson.

Carrey went too far with Riddler, Jones as TwoFace was just bad, and the less said about Poison Ivy and Mr "I Vont Yor Cloze Yor Boodz And Yor Modorzykal" Freeze the better.

Depp would play an awesome Riddler, so long as again, the film was less tongue in cheek and more serious.

When I think of Depp as the Riddler I think of his role as Willy Wonka and it just all fits so perfectly.

Depp's Willy was scary.
