Shit's scary.

Also has some good cross-over points with the book.

Had some jump scares in it but the movie was awesome. Saw it in 3D with Ben and another friend.

Friend called it World War Zzzzzzzzzzz cuz he fell asleep

I heard it is drastically different from the book.

The Oatmeal says the only thing it has in common with the book is they both feature zombies.

Given that the book is basically a collection of interviews with people who witnessed and survived a mass outbreak, I can't see how that'd work as a film.

The movie is told from a different person's experience through the whole event. Anyone who says it has nothing to do with the book clearly doesn't remember reading the book.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I ain't saying that its nothing like the book at all.

Just saying that the book is a whole bunch of interviews, and the film isn't.

I'm expecting it to have:

1. The bit with the Chinese doctor at the start, where Patient Zero is
2. Something about those guys who smuggled people out of infected areas for cash
3. The army's first encounter with them

Etc etc.

The book tells the story by interviews (or at least it has done so far - still reading it), so I'd assume the movie will actually show the events themselves, not just the interviews.

Am I right?

Nailed it. I still need to finish the last 100 pages of the book though, haven't touched it in a while.
