Because DC are just going for their own Avengers. They're obviously gonna go for a Justice League movie but I don't think it will work.

I've read that they're gonna be inspired by the events of The Dark Knight Returns (long story short, Batman and Supes duke it out at some point, it was iconic. I own the comics). But that's not what's gonna get me. See, we've been treated to Batman being a gritty, semi-believable story, and everyone is going to be expecting something along the same lines. So when coupled with extrovert superman, they're either going to have to make batman more comicy in order to stay within the movie's parameters, or they're going to have two clashing characters.

All in all, they're gonna try too hard for their Avengers (like Man of Steel wasn't basically Avengers anyway) and much like the Avengers, its gonna streamline it and turn it into a kid's series of movies.

Plus whoever they get to play Batman is probably gonna be bitched about for not being Chris Bale. It's just a disaster waiting to happen.

This could be cool of they don't comicify Batman and embrace the dissonance between the two. Sadly that'll take a better filmmaker than Zack Snyder (300 is ace but it's hardly the most gripping narrative.).

Well at the end of the dark Night JGL was giving the directions to the bat cave. He could be the next batman. A younger batman like they did it batman beyond.

Also, on topic, JGL was implied to be Robin, I that would be silly.

I'll also mention that I read long ago that Warner Bros were going to reboot Batman after the last Nolan film as they wanted to make Batman JLA worthy. The Nolan films are done, no more, nothing will be carried over.

1) The Dark Knight Returns comic will be an inspiration. Remember, in the context of the comic book, Batman and Superman have DECADES of ideological differences. The outcome made sense there, but I highly doubt that Batman will take down Supes because 1) There is no established relationship between the two and 2) Kryptonite has yet to be introduced. I find it highly unlikely that they will be brawling it out.

2) As the Man of Steel already established a darker "Nolanistic" film, I have huge doubts that Batman will be more comical. MoS has been influenced by Nolan too much and considering the ending HERE BE SECRETSwhere Supes kills Zod it has been shown that this will be a much darker Superman story. All Star Superman, this is not.

3) This goes in line with point two. Honestly, DC has been talking about a Justice League movie for years now, this is nothing new. Because of the adult nature of MoS, I have doubts that the Justice League movie and the films that lead up to it will be for children. ESPECIALLY in the context of a Batman film which as shown by Tim Burton and Nolan, are not exactly pandas, cotton candy and rainbows.

4) Christian Bale was a great Bruce Wayne but a mediocre Batman. We need someone who doesn't sound like he sucks dicks and smokes simultaneously while recovering from a sore throat from the last Justin Beaver concert.
