the personal power of the monarch of the UK are To refuse to dissolve Parliament when requested by the Prime Minister. To appoint a Prime Minister of her [his] own choosing. To dismiss a Prime Minister and his or her Government on the Monarch's own authority. To summon and prorogue parliament To command the Armed Forces To dismiss and appoint Ministers To commission officers in the Armed Forces To appoint Queen's Counsel To issue and withdraw passports To create corporations via Charter To appoint Bishops and Archbishops of the Church of England To grant honours The power to grant Prerogative of Mercy To refuse the Royal Assent, The power to declare War and Peace The power to deploy the Armed Forces overseas The power to ratify and make treaties To refuse the "Queen's [King's] Consent", where direct monarchical assent is required for a bill affecting, directly or by implication, the prerogative, hereditary revenues—including ultimus haeres, treasure trove, and bona vacantia—or the personal property or interests of the Crown to be heard in Parliament. |

So... good ol' Queenie has more power than Obama and Congress combined, has never abused that power (to my knowledge), and we have a working country. Seriously Merica, for your own benefit, I think it's best if we took the keys off you and helped you back on track. |

Waluigi has a present for you. |

As long as we're all in agreement that your Congress is a bunch of minnie-moo-foo-foos, we good? Also, Queenie doesn't control the money, just the people who do. Cake status: Had and eaten. |

it's more like, work gets soda machine. everyone is forced to drink soda. management is exempt from this rule and can drink whatever they want. Bill says I refuse to process payroll until either management has to drink soda too or no one has to drink soda. |

Are you sure? Is it not that everyone, including management, can have free soda, or can choose to bring their own preferred soda from the local soda store at their own cost, but Bill wants everyone to bring their own cos he has shares in that store that everyone shops from, and won't see as much profit from it? Is the free soda being forced on everyone, or can they choose to buy their own if they wish? |

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I'm not totally 100% on top of politics(or even like, 50% on top of them), but as far as I know, we don't know yet. It's mandatory for everyone to get insurance, but how it's going to be distributed, if we're going to be forced to actually buy it or if it will be provided, we(or at least, I) don't know the details of yet. Info is supposed to come in November or January or something like that afaik. |

so basically every company with over 50 employees is forced to provide health insurance for their employees. but many large corporations are exempt from this as they wouldn't have been ready in time to implement. so Repubs are like, either include those large corporations or exempt it for everyone until they are ready. |

I never thought I'd say this about a thread that you reprobates post in, but... I'm kinda starting to understand what's going on. But am I right in thinking that while Bill's opposal to the soda machine may have it's merits and may deserve to be discussed in it's own way, in no way should he be able to refuse to pay people? |
