I call insane, maybe even inordinate amounts of bullshit and shenanigans on Metallica. How are you going to take out a Slayer song because it might offend some parents and put another in? Parents don't like Slayer, period, and that never stopped anyone from putting Raining Blood in GH3. More importantly, how long has Trujillo been with Metallica; more to the point, how old is he? If he's a grown adult like I think he is, he can suck it up, acknowledge Cliff's importance and push for his inclusion. Though he is bandmates with Lars Ulrich, so I'm not really sure that the Metallica of today is heavy on maturity and rationality.

I hope to God that all parties involved suffer heavily because of this crap, financially, socially, I don't care. You're all hell-bent on ruining something great and shitting on the memory of a great man in the process. I hope that one day you can man up and be ashamed of the shit you've done.

Consider this a short history lesson....

Cliff Burton was a legend, thrown from a rolling tour bus only to have the bus roll over him, crushing him. He was the most energetic, mental and enthusiastic bass player ever, and was damn good at it. He was so much the spirit of Metallica that they made 2 movies in his honour. Since then, Metallica have gone from bad to worse, and not just satisfied with fucking over their fans, they're now fucking over their history.

Yeah, I know its sick, but I keep picturing the accident, and he goes flying through a window, lands on the grass, and says "Phew, that was cl-" and then squish. A little chuckle, but also sorrow, as he was amazing. True story, but Jason's bass on "...And Justice For All" was deliberately quietened during recording so that fans didn't think he was trying to outdo Cliff or disrespect him in some way, which is a shame, cos its their last good album.

Also, Flea from RHCP says "Someone say great bass player, or greatest bass player?". Although Les is darned tooting.

yeah, flea was my first choice for greatest bass player untill yesterday, when I discovered Les.
but anybody who can wear a hole in their thumb while playing gets my respect.

I was thinking about this whole, Cliff not being in the game and I thought “all of the character movements are done with motion capture, and he’s dead…” and my initial reaction to Blokeh’s description was that he sounded like he’d move around A LOT on the stage (think Tom Morello, he can’t keep still unless there’s a wah pedal in front of him), and we all know how terrible GH3’s non mo-capped animations were, would you really want somebody mimicking him or a badly animated non mo-capped version?

They could have gotten anyone to mocap. Hell, they managed to get realistic Hendrix movements and realistic Brett Michaels (with Izzy Sparks, before Brett was actually in it) movements, simply by having people watch the real players and then copying them.

There is nothing that could have stopped them, other than their own suckness.

I have only just started listening to them, haven't heard any of their old stuff only Death magnetic, I think its a good album but I dont have any of thier other material to compare it too. Might go look for a torrent now.

If you get MASTER OF PUPPETS and ...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL, you will never need another Metallica album.

The others are alright, but those two are so epic that your face will asplode.

Matt, I've heard a couple of tracks of Death Magnetic, and it's okay. MUCH better than St. Anger. *shudder*

But you definitely have to check out their early stuff, specifically their first four albums.

Even though their music has improved some, they're still a gaggle of douchebags disguised (poorly) as men. The fact that they used to be the best metal band around at one point makes it all the more painful.
