Can't remember what happened about JC2. It wasn't bad, I just finished it, and probably forgot to type up the review. Haven't even got anything scribbled down in my massive notebook either, which is a bit worrying =\

But from what I remember, it's a whole lot of fun, if your idea of fun is running around, looking for the tiniest of things in a massive island.

Missions aren't that varied either, with all the Stronghold takes basically coming down to escorting Guy X to the bombsite, waiting for him to set us up the bomb, then killing the waves of troops that come at you.

The local forces that come for you are a bit silly as well. You can snipe one guy in the middle of nowhere, and suddeny the entire army is after you, or you can massacre a whole division with a minigun, and no one says a word.

The one massive problem I had with it was the Agency missions to drive the story on... Forcing you to complete side missions is never a good thing, much less when you're forced to do mundane shit in the middle of nowhere to have to fly to the other end of the area to complete a story mission.

It was fun though, but massively over the top, especially with jumping out of a plane about 3km up, freefalling, then grappling hook to a moving motorcycle, then parachuting up, hijacking a military helicopter and missiling the crap out of a building.... Then getting shot down by SAMs...

Yeah, I heard that the grapple thing figured hugely into the gameplay. I heard about one glitch for infinite stunt points where you grapple your vehicle to a tree, drive off a cliff, and keep accelerating even when you reach the end of the grapple. You'll just keep getting stunt points so long as you're holding down the gas.

I also heard that later in the game, there's a problem with how the enemies appear, because they start appearing out of the ether, shooting at you.

Stunt Points don't really mean shit though, if I remember, I thnk there might be a trophy, but thats it as far as I remember

and I played that game for like 70 hours, and that never happened to me.

I'm just going off of what the Power Button guys were saying. Generally, they have a pretty good idea of what they're talking about. I think it was just Brad and Joey that had been having that issue, and they were playing the 360 version, so maybe that was it. :hmm:

Well, FF:4 Heroes is here, and I'm decidedly unimpressed in the first 2 hours of play.
I know the DS was originally thought of as a "kid's console", but this is 2010, and we've got adverts of football teams playing with the damn thing.

Basically, you pick a move, and that's it. You don't get to decide who gets the business end of an attack, or who receives a heal (healing is done on lowest health, with no other regards. Like the wind immunity I had on one of the characters, basically couldn't be killed by a boss, but because he had 1hp lower than the person who was getting a beating, the immune person took it, and the other one was killed in the next attack.). Even if you lose 2 people in the party, and fire off a Phoenix Down, because inventories aren't shared, you have a chance of getting screwed, unless every single character has at least 2 PDs in their inventory.

Which is limited to 15 items..

Including any equipment you have equipped, and anywhere up to 6 spells.

So that's a main hand, offhand, armour, and accessory.. 6 spell books.

Leaving you with 5 slots. Of which 2 should be Phoenix Downs.

They probably didn't intentionally make it that awkward, but there's clearly not a great train of thought gone in to the overall effect.

That was my thoughts exactly, dumbed down.

There comes more strategy when different characters have different weapons that attack either the front or back etc, and what not but it's still difficult to play because it gives you no options in battle.

I just got turned into a fucking cat and I don't know where to go. Not in the brightest mood atm and this isn't helping. FFS.

Man, that sounds ridiculous. What a shit way to set up a battle system.

Well, now that it's out, how 'bout reviewing Golden Sun: Dark Dawn? I know it's gonna be hella awesome, but there are a couple questions I've seen raised that I'd like an answer to, like if the re-targeting of enemies after one got killed has been fixed, and how using Djinn to summon spirits affects your Psynergy in battle.

Hmm... pre-release blurb... "Weapon Masteries allow your characters to become more skilled with a weapon, the more they use them"... Dungeon Siege anyone? :D

Shame really, a lot of good games go completely unnoticed because of AAA titles whoring column space.

Of course, they're more hit and miss than the AAAs, but there's equal enough fantastic to just about make up for the dross ones.

Fucked if I know, that's just how it shows up in my list... Might be a reason why they've not sent it, because their pickers are looking for the wrong format?
