So there you are. Its vidya tiem. You bang in the disc/cart/whatever, it loads up, and then you're met with two words. PRESS START. You look at your pad. It has a button marked "Start". Do you press it? Or do you press "X" or "A" or whatever is the usual "Confirm" button in games on your chosen console, knowing full well it'll work just the same? Me, I just press "X" cos I know it'll work. Haven't come across a game that it hasn't, but I would LOVE a game to come out that punishes you in some way for disobeying it, like a cutscene of some angry dude shouting at you saying "YOU DUMB SHIT, I SAID START, NOT BLOODY X! NOW PRESS START BEFORE I RAPE YOUR NAN!" or something. Yeah, its late and I'm both bored and not tired. |

I thought this to myself earlier when I was playing Saints Row...opening menu screen "Press Start" I pressed 'X' as it was easier and it worked. Fuck the system. Occupy the controller. |

There's been a couple games I've played recently where I absolutely had to press Start 'cause nothing else would work, but I'll be damned if I can remember what they were, though. I would love to see a game that chewed you out for not hitting Start, though. That'd be hilarious. |

I flail on every button I can get my thumbs on, Start included, until I'm completely through all the menus and ads and bullshits. Probably bad for my controller tbh. |

A few games still demand you press start its true. I press circle or A generally. Dangerous coz when I visit my mates I have to remember to use X rather than O, usually resulting in me entering then canceling out of menus repeatedly. |

Forza 3 demands you press start. I remember the first time I booted it up, I was like, "Wow, this is some classy and clean presentation to start off with." Then the "Press Start" screen showed up and I pressed A. Nothing happened. I was like, "Oh, wow, they actually did it right. Good job Turn 10, I love you forever." Then I came. |
