Stones. Don't explain for me.

What's the point? Dobbo already covered it.

I'm too shit. That's definitely it. I'm obviously very bad at this game and I can't accept this so I have to lash out at other people.

Here's what I was going to put before I saw the dead horse pic.

Oh, and most definitely before the 'I'm too shit' bit which DEFINITELY strikes a nerve.

Funny that, because on your Facebook rage you were claiming that it was my problem. It's not a problem to me. I play when I play. When I don't, I have other things to do. /shrug

I give up.

You'd think the admittance in this thread would suffice. Apparently not.

Well, you can continue this argument without me because clearly anything I say will mean absolutely diddle.

You'll just dissect everything I say when thats exactly what I wished to avoid in the first place.

I got my answer.

"bored, i'll play when I feel like".

Cool.

In case you're still confused about what I originally said, well, the heavily edited version goes something like

"leave me the fuck alone, I don't have the patience for this bullshit any longer".

A lot different from the original message.

In fact, almost a direct opposite of "where are you guys, its lonely on here" but hey, feelings change.

I could be so fucking brutal and harsh and cruel and despicable but I'm holding back. Real fucking hard, but I'm holding back.

@ Stones: Look dude, just cut this Alton Towers shit out. I've never been, and they have a hotel and everything. Fucking elevator that drops and shit, rides that go upside down. And I don't drive so I cant get there, and I'm even further away. Can you just use a different analogy like "So we all signed up to this website where people discuss erotic art, and the only ones who posted were me and Jim".

Seriously though, unless people signed their name then you can't blame them for finding other fun elsewhere. It's the nature of the beast. I mean, fuck, have you ever tried playing anything with Orrah? Fucker gets bored after a few days of playing and then he fucks off to something else. Only think we play is Total War and that's a week of 12 hour bursts every six months.

Oh yeah that reminds me, Orrah got the game, his name is Beowolf Ermagerd or something. I signed him up to the guild.

False expectations. It can't be helped with an MMO. You can promise the world but if you're bored after a week then you're not gonna play just to please everyone else. Jim should have really just said he was off to find a more busy guild, not jumped out the window guns blazing. Yeah I'm a fair weather gamer or whatever he said. And to be fair, how much is there to talk about when everyone's a different levels? Best time for that is when there's a few people at lvl 50 striving for endgame material and doing hard dungeons, texting each other throughout the day with new strategies and and armour they;ve got their eye on, arranging times to log on and do raids n shit.

C'mon dobbers you know this shit, back a crazeh fooz up.

Oh and motherfuckers love drama.

This board gets like 2 hits a day and then this happens and y'all jump on it like Sugar Hill Gang's Apache.

I shouldn't have to explain myself. Especially considering people love the drama more than the truth.. but the reason I craved some actual peoples input is I can't get anywhere with a DPS class because the wait for duties is insane.

I wanted the weapons/gears from dungeons to either sell or turn into materia.

If I knew the sole intention of an MMO was 'race to level cap' then 'lets all endgame' then I would have approached the whole thing much differently.

Also randoms are fucktards. Not always, but mostly fucktards. You're giving me this advice to go find randoms like I hadn't already tried that..

Since we're hot on analogies, that's like telling you I'm missing the flavour of bacon but there's no pigs around so I should stuff my face with tofu.

Tofu sucks.

Anyway, you guys discuss this out. I'm off to drop the Bahamut of shits. (That's still kinda on topic).

occasionally randoms are bad. and in those instances every attempt should be made to teach the tank how to better tank, or the dps to not pull threat, but if that still doesn't work you leave party and try again. duty finder takes about 30 minutes for a dps, I know because I am one, it's not that bad if you queue up and then work on other crap while waiting. time goes by real quick when you stay busy.

Duty finder is your friend.

Don't just stand there staring at the timer. Go off and work on some quests, FATES even. As soon as your slot is found you'll be ported straight to the instance, wherever it is in the world you happen to be. You can't complain there are no opportunities, when there are.

Here's a true story: In the first two weeks or so, the duty finder was borked, even for a tank. There were un-necessary queues for duties, even though there were dozens of people just standing outside the instances just waiting out the duty finder. Did it bother me? No, I just started the timer and went back to questing. Even if it took me 30 minutes to get in, I just hid the timer and got on with shit. Never once complained that it took an age, or if I did, it was more to do with SE forcing people to do instances to advance the story enough to get the basics, such as mounts.

And yes Ax. In 15+ years of MMORPG gaming, there comes the realisation that people want to do end-game, and for good reason, as most of the time it's a challenge far surpassing everything else you've seen prior. The hilarious thing about hearing about it being a race, is it's not even hard to level from 1-50. I followed the basic blueprint (in order of importance):

Follow Story - Pick up quests - Look at where all the quests take you - Do quests ordered by where they are on the map - Do every FATE you see between quest A-B, B-C etc., do instances that are level appropriate, especially if needed for a quest.

THIS is how you level in an MMORPG. It's not specific to FFXIV neither, more or less every MMORPG is played like this by anyone and everyone who's played them for more than about 6 weeks. AND I watched/read/smiled/laughed through every minute of it.

The other hilarious thing is how this is called FFXIV, and therefore has to be absorbed in record slowness right? Wrong. Seriously, the main story is all that there is to absorb, and is all that ties this to the franchise, which is hardly long enough to be worthy of a FF title. So to question FF fandom based on the ability to level quickly is frankly pathetic. Most of the quests outside of the main story arc are filler content designed to slow you down, unless you do it efficiently. That's how the industry rolls. FFXIV is nothing short of a fairly standard MMORPG, dressed up as Final Fantasy. Sorry to break it to you.

I don't get what your 'its easy to reach 50' shit has to do with whether or not the game is FF.

It has chocobos. It has bombs. It has the prelude music. It has crystals.
It has movesets and armours reminiscent of other FFs.

It is FF. Regardless of how industry standard the game is.

You missed the point. Lets hope you don't miss a bollock quite as badly.
