So with my 1.8mil, I'm buying a plot of land in the morning. Should have enough left over from that, plus what my retainers make from the 40 items I just put up, should be enough for a planning permit too, meaning by the time the Amerifags wake up, UUDD should have its own house.

You can buy your own private rooms though.

Will also be buying a stable so we can train our chocobos.

BTW, is there a way to track down the chocobo if you accidentally summoned him and didn't realize it? 'Cause I think I did that.

It will constantly follow you, unless you're in a major city (Limsa, Gridania, Ul'Dah) in which case it'll be hidden until you leave.

If you have summoned him outside of a city and he's not visible, then you might have selected "Stay" as an action. Hit start, go to Companions, and then hit "Free Stance". He'll come back to you and will then attack whatever you do.

Also, not bought land yet, but bathing the kids in the next five minutes, then I'm blowing 1.58mil on a plot of land. :yes:

Still, it's in a proper nice corner of Ward 4 in the Ul'Dah district (because everywhere else is sold the fuck out) and it has some well nice views, as well as having a summoning bell, market board, and aetherite just over the wall.

But all that fucking money, and we STILL don't have a house (requires a further 450,000 to build it - I just bought the plot).

Rats. Looks like you need more than money to get private rooms. From the patch notes:

* The size of private chambers is the same regardless of estate size.
* All estates are allowed up to 512 private chambers.

This is gonna take a while.

Looks like my primary tradecraft is gonna be leatherworking for a while. I don't seem to have as much pricing competition in the Ul'dah markets for that stuff. The initiate's gear I made got snapped up quick, and I made 7500 gil off one each of headgear and thighboots. It's better than the 1250 gil per cotton kurta that's only getting bought once in a while.

Until I figure out how to get diremite web to make dew thread and velveteen, I can't advance as much as I'd like in weaving anyway (and yeah, I know how to wiki that shit, but I want that to be a last resort). Meanwhile, I'll be spending a lot more time in Eastern Thanalan, farming aldgoats and mining alumen.
