At Gamecom today head of Lionhead’s Peter Molyneux announced that coming September 29th you will be able to download his last 360 outing, Fable II, for free. Well the first part any way. Upon completion of the first segment the players will be given the option to download the next part directly from the Xbox live market place. The game is to be divided up into five parts at natural breaks in the game and will also be compatible with the past DLC, Knothole Island and See the Future.
Then he announced Fable III.
Supposedly coming next year the next entry in the Fable franchise will supposedly put you as the offspring of your Fable II character (using your past save file) and you will inherit all your parents’ faults and indiscretions. Possibly leading to a variety of possible worlds and experiences.
Molyneux said the challenge is to always surprise the player and create something different. Something that could prove a challenge with a game as established as Fable, but he seems to have a plan. Your goal this time will be to become the ruler of the world of Albion battling your way up to the position of Queen or King.
Looking back at how important moral choice was in the previous games it will be interesting to see the number of possibilities Lionhead give you in your quest. Personally I am going for regicide. My last guy was a pretty nice chap; they will never see it coming.
